She's Beautiful, But So Am I

Hi.

I know it’s been a while since I’ve wrote. To be honest, I have a love/hate relationship with my computer. Since everything is online these days, I usually don’t want to spend any more time staring at a screen.

BUT this is my happy place, so here I am.

I’m back with more quotes (my favorite things ever, I’m sorry if you don’t feel the same).

“Stop comparing yourself. Flowers are pretty, but so are sunsets and they look nothing alike.”

The world has so much beauty. However, many times we fail to recognize it. I am definitely guilty of that. Our society spends so much time focusing on comparing ourselves to others. One scroll through your timeline and you’re suddenly questioning your looks, your job and your lifestyle.

We admire everyone else’s beauty, but we fail to see our own. Yes, beauty is subjective, some people may think it comes just from looks, others personality. But just because you think someone who looks completely different than you is beautiful, doesn’t mean you aren’t. Because YOU are.

Basically, what I am saying is, we become so used to ourselves that we can’t see the sparkle that radiates from within us.

If you have this problem (like many of us do while scrolling through socials), let’s try saying this: “she’s beautiful, but so am I”.

I am working to recognize that someone else’s beauty isn’t the absence of my own.

Let’s learn to love ourselves a little bit more today.

And if it’s too hard for you to recognize your beauty today…I’m here to remind you of it.

You are beautiful.
